The Parochial Church Council

Each parish has a governing body called the Parochial Church Council, made up of clergy, churchwardens and laypeople who are elected by members of the congregation. Anyone who is on the church's electoral roll is eligible to stand for the PCC for a three-year term of office. All decisions concerning worship, finance, the building and our community activities must be discussed and ratified by the PCC. The PCC also regularly updates our Mission Action Plan, listing our current objectives for St Mary's Church.

Each year we hold an Annual Parochial Church Meeting -(APCM) to discuss the reports for the year ending and appoint PCC members and other roles. Those who are on our Electoral Roll can vote. Click below for the latest report and archives.

The Electoral Roll

The Electoral Roll is our church's list of all those who are eligible to vote about church matters at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting and stand for election to the PCC. In 2025 all churches are required to prepare a fully new electoral roll. This means that everyone who wishes to remain on or join the roll must complete a new enrolment form.

Eligibility for the electoral roll includes those who:
1) Are 16 or older
2) Have been baptised
3) Live in the parish

OR

Do not live in the parish but have habitually attended worship here for at least the past six months. Enrolment forms are available at the back of church and can be left in the blue box. The form is also available electronically by clicking link below. Completed forms should be dropped into the Parish office or sent to Celyn in the Parish Office at office@smvph.org.uk
