Primrose Hill Lecture Series: Walter Murch with Catherine Shoard on 'Behind The Seen'

16th June: Walter Murch in conversation with Catherine Shoard

'Behind the Seen'

Walter Murch is acknowledged as one of the most respected film editors, directors, writers and sound designers in the business. He has worked on films including Apocalypse Now, The Godfather I, II and III, American Graffiti, The Conversation, and The English Patient

During his career, he has been nominated for nine Academy Awards and won three; an Oscar for the sound mix in Apocalypse Now and Oscars for film editing and sound mixing of The English Patient. Walter Murch will be showing some of his work and discussing the art of film-making.

Catherine Shoard is the Film Editor of The Guardian. She commissions and edits news, reviews, interviews and features about film. She also writes some of the interviews and comment pieces. Before that, she was a film critic for the Sunday Telegraph and wrote interviews and book reviews for other papers.

All lectures start at 7pm followed by a live Q&A. Approximate finish time is 8.30pm.

Proceeds are in aid of St Mary’s church - a vital base for outreach services to vulnerable local people, including the elderly, the homeless and young people at risk.

Primrose Hill books will be selling books at the venue after each talk and authors will be signing copies.
